Belt Replacement on Eureka Victory & Whirlwind Models
Turn off switch and unplug vacuum cleaner before servicing vacuum cleaner. Belt pulleys and belt can become hot during normal use. To prevent injury, avoid touching the motor pulley when checking the belt. Vacuum cleaners create suction and contain a revolving brush roll and moving parts. Keep loose clothing, hair, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
Step 1Turn off vacuum cleaner and unplug power cord from wall. |
Step 2Put handle into it's lowest position |
Step 3Loosen the two screws that hold the top on. |
Step 4Remove the top by tilting forward and lifting. |
Step 5Lift side of brush roll opposite of belt to remove brush roll. |
Step 6Slide belt off of motor pulley. |
Step 7Check for any obstructions in suction inlet. |
Step 8Slide new belt over motor pulley. |
Step 9Place belt on bush roll pulley. |
Step 10Align end opposite of belt end with slot in base, and place in base. |
Step 11Stretch belt and snap belt end into base. Step 12Rotate bush roll with your hand to make sure belt is seated properly. |
Step 13Replace top. Make sure top is behind furniture guard. Top should go into place with out much force. Step 14Replace screws and tighten. |
